ENGINEERING RUBBER PRODUCTS

Laminated Elastomeric Bearings

In bridge, the superstructure moves due to temperature effects, traffic loads, wind loads, concrete shrinkage and creep etc. Unless bearings are used to accommodate the effect of these movements, the girders will apply large horizontal forces on the piers. In practice, several types of bearing pads have been used to support the girders. One of those types of bearing pads that is generally considered more effective and economical is laminated elastomeric bearings. In this section, the laminated elastomeric bearings were designed to the up-to-date design criteria of European standard EN 1337-3.

Seismic Isolator (Lead Rubber Bearing)

Seismic isolation has been widely adopted to isolate a superstructure from earthquake ground motions by lengthening the structural period. This technique introduces an isolation floor between the superstructure and the support. The unique characteristic of lead rubber bearing makes it one of the most commonly used as seismic isolator. The hysteresis behavior of lead rubber bearing can be modeled by a bilinear behavior, which can be characterized with the initial stiffness, post-yield stiffness and characteristic strength. In this section, the lead rubber bearings were designed to the European standard EN 15129.

Elastomeric Expansion Joint

All bridges move in various ways due to environmental and self-imposed phenomena such as themal variations, concrete shrinkage, creep effects from prestressing and foundation settlement. This is where the elastomeric expansion joint come into play. Elastomeric expansion joint can accommodate cyclic and long-term structure movements in a way as to minimize imposition of secondary stresses in the structure. It also can prevent water and debris infiltration to substructure elements below. Most importantly, elastomeric expansion joint provides a relatively smooth riding surface when compared to other type of joints

Marine Dock Fender

Our fenders are unique, having high energy absorption to reaction force ratio as one of its salient features. They are cylindrical in shape with two steel mounting plates firmly bonded to both ends of the main rubber column during vulcanization. The application is suitable for container & bulk terminals, oil & gas terminals, general cargo terminals, cruise terminals, shipyard, navy and etc.
